What Is the Ecovadis Platinum Designation?
The Ecovadis Platinum designation is reserved for the top 1% of performers on the Ecovadis platform. In order to earn this designation, companies must score in the top tier across all four categories: environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
Environment: To assess a company’s environmental performance, Ecovadis looks at factors such as energy consumption, waste management, and emissions reduction.
Labor & Human Rights: In this category, Ecovadis evaluates a company’s policies and procedures related to labor standards and human rights. This includes things like working hours, freedom of association, health & safety standards, etc.
Business Ethics: The business ethics category includes criteria such as anti-corruption policies, bribery & corruption incidents, ethical practices relating to customers & suppliers, etc.
Sustainable Procurement: For the sustainable procurement category, Ecovadis looks at a company’s efforts to procure goods and services from sustainable sources. This includes things like supplier diversity spend analysis and use of recycled materials.
